While decorating our homes is a personal decision, all of us can't help but be influenced by the latest decor trends occasionally. However, while one person may be all too excited to hop on the latest decor idea, another may find the concept completely repulsive.

One aspect that could influence which trends we love and which we hate could be linked with our zodiac signs. Naturally, what bugs a perfectionist Virgo likely won't bother a free-spirited Sagittarius, and given that our signs can provide insight into our likes and dislikes, they can be a great indicator of which trends we may gravitate towards and which we are determined to avoid.

Check out your sign below to see what your biggest decorating pet peeve is, according to your zodiac sign.

Aries: Too Many Trends At Once

As a Mars-ruled fire sign, you’re not afraid of making a bold impression–but too many decor trends at once get under your skin.

You have a focused vision, and you want to make an impression, but when it’s clear that someone simply threw several “popular” ideas together without a plan, it feels like a waste of what could’ve been. Ideally, you would prefer to make a big splash with one trend and invest in it fully.

Taurus: Rugs That Are Too Small

You understand the importance of comfort as a Venus-ruled earth sign, but you also know that looks matter. When decorating your space, notably in dining and living rooms, a size of a rug has the potential to make or break how everything else appears.

As a rule, at least two legs of all major furniture pieces should fit on the rug to ensure the space looks cohesive. No matter how luxurious, a rug that is too small can make the rest of the space look disjointed. With the intention you put into fabrics and accents, the last thing you want is for one small detail to offset the whole look of the space.

Gemini: Decor With Zero Personality

Modern styles may be all the rage, but as a Mercury-ruled air sign, decor still needs some personality to catch your attention. Spaces that come across more like hotel lobbies instead of personalized living rooms are an eyesore in your opinion.

The space should, bare minimum, include aspects that are whimsical or playful to liven things up.

Cancer: Decor That Doesn’t Feel Personal

Sure, you can decorate with luxury fabrics and expensive wall art, but as a Moon-ruled water sign, you hate to see a space that doesn’t feel personal to whoever lives there.

There are plenty of ways to add a personal touch on a budget, such as personal photographs or keepsakes from family and friends. These additions tell a story, as you believe home decor should.

Leo: Not Enough Lighting

As the Sun-ruled fire sign, lighting is everything. While some might solely rely on one overhead lighting option, you know this is a disservice. Your home should have multiple lighting options to choose from, and corners of your home shouldn’t be relegated to darkness.

It can make the space feel uninviting and lifeless. (Lighting Tip: you'll want to ensure that your brightness levels and bulbs are the same wattage throughout your home to keep things balanced).

Virgo: Art Hung Too High or Too Low

You have an eye for proper placement as a Mercury-ruled earth sign, so when you notice art or frames positioned too high or too low on a wall, it can make your skin crawl. Ideally, art should be hung at eye level to draw positive attention to the piece. Balance is key, and proper art placement can go a long way.

Libra: Furniture Layout That Isn’t Balanced

You may be stereotyped about loving “balance” as a Venus-ruled air sign, but it does feel unsettling to you when furniture isn’t balanced well in a space. It doesn't mean things have to be perfectly symmetrical, but the room shouldn’t feel too heavy with furniture on one side or another.

For living rooms, focus on the sofa to help determine where everything else in the room should go.

Scorpio: No Curtains or Drapery

As a Pluto-ruled water sign, you know the value of privacy—which is why you can’t wrap your mind around not having curtains on your windows. While finding the ideal shades may take time or money, you know that not only does it make the home look put together, but it also lets you feel more secure with your privacy.

Sagittarius: Only Neutral Color Schemes

You aren’t against neutral colors by any means, but as a Jupiter-ruled fire sign, you also don’t want it to be the dominant color scheme in your space. It’s deeply unlikely you’ll find the color “griege” anywhere near your decor choices, as you like to add a little boldness to your accents and colors.

Capricorn: Open Shelving in the Kitchen

As a Saturn-ruled earth sign, you know presentation is a significant factor in decor. Open shelving in kitchens has the potential to look nice, but only if you can keep things uncluttered, if your kitchenware matches, or if you have enough space to display everything properly.

More often than not, open shelving tends to look chaotic at best and cluttered at worst, and you are not about it.

Aquarius: Decor That Is Too Matchy

As the Uranus-ruled air sign, you want decor to have a life of its own—everything doesn’t have to perfectly match to look cohesive. You hate when everything in a space looks like it arrived from the same store or brand, especially when there are plenty of unique ways to style your home.

Pisces: Minimalist Decor Schemes

As the Neptune-ruled water sign, you enjoy the possibilities and personality decor can showcase. When you come across minimalist decor schemes, it’s disappointing because it feels like it limits expression—you love creativity in decor, and you don’t believe that less is always more.
